San Diego's 2008 County Fair takes place from June 14th until July 6th at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, one of the most gorgeous ocean view event locations in the nation. This year's theme, "Summer of Sports," celebrates sports from youth to professional and includes memorabilia, sports history and interactive exhibits. The first San Diego County Fair was held in 1880 when a small group of farmers got together to show off their Best Cow, Best Pie and Best Fruit. Today, the fair has grown to daily attendance numbers exceeding 100,000 on peak days. Highlights include thrill rides for teens and adults, kiddy rides, and pony rides for toddlers, a variety of fabulous food choices, games, shopping, performance contests, art exhibits, agricultural contests and so much more! Each evening enjoy a headline act on the "Coors Light Rock On Stage," featuring some of the best musicians from the Southwest. Most bands can be seen at no additional cost; your fair admission gets you in to the concert of the day. The fair is closed on two Mondays.
